    Default Wiggle Canes

These are pictures of a some canes that I call "Wiggle Canes". They are made up from 15 layers, each 1/16" thick. There are 5 sub-layers, each with 3 individual layers to make up the 15. So, 3 layers walnut, 3 layers maple, 3 layers walnut, 3 layers maple and 3 layers walnut. This gives you the one with the dark wood on the two sides. If you reverse the first, you end up with the outside layers a lighter color with two dark stripes in the middle.

The second picture is what I call a "Gent's Cane" or "Gentlemen's Cane". It is made the same way (15 layers), but the handle is made separately.

The third and forth pictures show a close up of the handle. I inserted a cross on one side and a heart on the other.

Looks good! How many do you glue up at a time?

Each cane is made up of 15 layers, but I can only glue up 5 layers at a time, so it takes 3 glue-ups for one cane. If I am making a "Gents" cane, there are two additional glue-ups - one for the layered handle and one to join the handle to the cane.

I like it. Simple and straight to the point.
