wine barrel trolley
Hi all
I have finally learnt to use the wifes digital camera and would like to show you my wine barrel trolley i built out of timber being thrown out on a clean up from down the road.
It is hardwood wall frames which i doweled 2 pieces together and dovetailed the corners, it is supported underneath with more wall frame timber and bakers bread trolley wheels underneath, it has 400 odd litres of muscat wine in it at the moment and a 750ml bottle will sit under the tap at the front to fill quite easily ready for bottling
my father in law gave me the barrel when he was alive and showed me how to make wine
there is a square cut in the staves at the top and are secured with alluminum strip to keep them from falling apart
the dovetails were cut with a disston d7 and i wore out about 10 coping saw blades as well
cheers

Nice trolley.
Cutting dovetails in big, hard timbers certainly is testing.Scally
