    Default Small wine cabinet

    Hi there guys and galls!

Haven't posted for a while and haven't built anything in even longer...

A mate turned 40 and he's always been a fan of my work so I thought I'd knock up something for the occassion. The missus paid for the beech and I invested the hours (which were - as always - twice what I thought they'd be).

    Attachment 121515

Doors with diagonal lattice (made using the jig I posted a while back)

    Attachment 121516

Doors with a 90° join and standard hinges (I use a lot of spring loaded Hettich stuff over here)

    Attachment 121517

Dovetail draw with recessed base (yes I know, the joins were made with a jig and I shall rot in hell). Rack angled to ensure wine always has contact with the cork. Mechanically and chemically bonded to hold the weight.

And there you have it. Me mate was chuffed and we polished off a few bottles of red to christen it. Ya can't ask for more than that!

    Happy woodworking!

    Nice design.

Do you have a link to the jig for the lattice work?

Thanks for the feedback. Because I prefer having bamboo shoved under my fingernails to painting/varnishing/staining, I restricted any finishing to the Penfolds Bin Sharaz 28. If it hasn't been done when my mate turns 50, I'll think about offering it to him then...

As for a link to the Grid Jig, here: https://www.woodworkforums.com/f88/gr...12/#post472996

    Thumbs up

    Different looking cabinet! Looks good.

Holds 21 bottle, right? Go well at my place. That's exactly 3 weeks worth!
