WIP Blanket Box
Here are some pics at my first wood working project.. this is a blanket box i am making for my senior workshop class.. Design Folio Avaliable
Pic 1. Is the box as is.. but with bas dry fitted and unfinished
Pic 2. The box with the lid sat ontop for visual reference
Pic 3. The various other pieces that will later be used for facing to hide my ugly jointing. Also the check pattern that will be used for the top and sides.
Box size is around 750x450x405 i believe

Hi NB,
One quick Q: The carcass appears to have dovetailed corners, so I'm a bit perplexed by the half-lap type of joint appearance on the bottom (in the first pic) corner?
Otherwise, it seems to be coming along rather well.

um yer did want the grain lenght ways but its renforced length ways underneath only so im using the grain as sturcutal support.... nothing special with the timber hoop pine for sides and top(19 mm thick). base is ply 12mm the vaneer is hoop pine and silky oak and the other timber im not too sure wat it is could b jarrah?? not sure it was lying around the wkshop..
