[WIP] Display Tables
For my second attempt at furniture making I decided to make a pair of display tables.
Pictured is one of them in its intended position so I could gauge proportions etc.
(Oh, the top is just temporary, I mangled it trying to do sliding dovetails for the breadboard ends with a hand-held router... *sigh* tops version 2.0 are going to have plain old tongue and groovey type ends )

Thanks! I am sort of undecided on the finish... on one hand I want to use shellac and wax but on the other hand I want to give wipe-on poly a try since I have never used it, I think I might put the butchered v1.0 tops to good use and use them to test both finishes.

Oops, I finished these a while back, but have been busy and I forgot about this thread. Here is the end result; nothing spectacular, but simple and I am reasonably happy with them. Jarrah finished with white shellac and wax.

Vey nice Scissors!
Oh! the woes of electrickery routers when trying fine joinery
Sliding DTs aren't all that hard by hand (actually, after some similarly nasty experiences with a tailed router, I now try the hand cut method first. However, I do try and make this joint first so I don't waste a lot of time with the other elements when the SD/T goes wonky on me
