    Default WIP - Pikler Triangle

I was asked to make a Piker Triangle for my nearly-1 grandson. Daughter-in-law thought they were great, but balked at the price of commercial ones - see Foldable Climbing Triangle | Moov Baby – MOOV baby

Found some great plans/instructions from another grandfather online For Foti and have been following those pretty closely. (NOVICE woodworker here!)

My version is 100% Tasmanian Oak, being that I can get it at the local big green store. I happened to find a finger-jointed oak panel at the same store, which formed the sheet for the slide/climbing bit. Other than that, all built as per plans:
    - cut and sanded the dowel for the ladders; cut the sides for the ladders and (crudely) attempted to cut semi-circles on them; assembled
    - banded the panel with more strips, sanded, mounted the slats on one side, filled some rough edges on the panel and a hole where a 40mm screw got into my 30mm box :/
    - cut another panel into triangle-ish for the bracket (couldn't find any real wood wide enough); and tried a couple of options for the mounting hardware - ended up with 6mm connector bolts and some nylock nuts recessed on the inside.
    - last night, prototyped and made wooden star knobs

Next steps will be final sand, then a couple of layers of Feast Watson Kitchen Timber Oil - and maybe finish with some Gilly's Food Safe Wax for sheen / smell.

    Thoughts?

I've got the sketchup file if you want. Helped me for metric conversions.

Thanks for the offer but I don’t have sketchup, so I’ll just wing it. I had a look at the link you posted and got the dimensions to get me started

Project is finished and delivered. Decided against the wax - it was already slippery enough, and the wax would have meant it was too hard for the kids to climb the ramp etc. Well received by the grandkids, and emailed the guy who posted the plans, he liked it took. Some pictured attached.

Did you end up making one of these @Slave?

Great looking triangle, I’ve nearly finished the one in the shed, I’ll post some photos in a couple of days
