Yep! You should be pleased I reckon.
Hey Scott, what is the finished thickness of the top? It looks thicker than the original boards minus the bit of milling on the underside!
Cheers,
P

G'day Wongo,
Looking great, you're making me jealous - the timber on hand, the time to do it and the skills.

No waste Scott thats what they call him. A man after my own heart. That top looks fantastic, keep the photo's comming.
The inlay on the side of the drawers can you please explain the reason for them, if it's for effect, it looks great something that I would never have though of.

Peter,
The inlay is part of the design and it is there for a reason. The boards are joined together with 2 screws (yes, no dovetails this time ) and a biscuit in the middle. The inlay hides the screw.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

OK honeymoons over, it is time to get back to work.
I needed to take 1 cm off a 20cm wide board. So I thought maybe I should cut some grooves on a table saw to break up the planning surface.
I was right. It was much easier for the thicknesser. It took 3 to 4 mm off in 1 pass rather than 1mm each time.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

I am going to put CD player and the speakers in the cabinet. So a door with solid or glass panel is no good. It will block the speakers and it might also weaken the remote control signal.
This is how I solve the problem. I am making a grid panel with a router. It is a simple idea but everything has to be spot on. Otherwise it will not look good.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

Wongo, starting to look good!
I have a cupboard with all my home entertainment in it and the speakers and subwoofer are in there as well.
I solved the speaker problem another way, mad door frames as for glass panels, then bought some speaker cloth and put this on an insert inside the door frame.
Looks good and it doesn't stop the sound, I have taken the speaker front of the speakers.
If you want I can put up some pictures.
