No woodworking today
Hi,
Because today the Balinese celebrate Tumpek Landep, No woodworking for me.
This special day for Balinese Hindu people is called "Tumpek Landep" , devoted to Sang Hyang Pasupati, Lord of heirlooms, weapons and metal tools for proper function and magical power. The celebration is held at every house compound and temple.
The people of Bali celebrate this day every 210 days, don't worry they have a special calender for all these festivities.
My motorbike also joins the ceremony!

Hi
Here in Bali and all over Indonesia you could consider motorbikes as weapons of mass-destruction!!

What a great idea for a celebration! Bit different to worshipping chocolate or rabbits, or some other strange events we celebrate in the west. Do the metal tools have to be bigger than a certain size before they are honored with decoration?
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

Hi Zenwood,
No, in this case size doesn't matter Even my 6mm chisel was decorated with a beautiful offering.
Me and my wife live here since 4 years and we are still amazed to what length these people go regarding their religion. Truly amazing!
