'Woody' Custom Centre Console- Holden Jackaroo/Isuzu Trooper
got sick of the tiny original tub, could barely fit my wallet in the tub....
so replacing the entire console, with a custom woody :lol:
the entire 'roo will be going the woody way
list of timber in the console:
blackbean -----(drink holder and dash mould)
mahogany -----(gearstick and tub)
hickory --------(trim)
silver ash------ (tub)
american oak -(letters and trim)
tasmanian oak (trim)
jarrah ----------(lid)
cherry ----------(wings)
off the top of my head, here's some of the dimensions
1@ 600x200x70 Jarrah -Lid- shaped with bandsaw, grinder, disc sander, router, trimmer and bobbin sander
2@ 500x500x10 Silver Ash -Tub- cut with bandsaw, thicknessed
1@ 600x500x10 Mahogany -Gearstick panel- thicknessed, dowel joined the 2 wild pieces, scroll sawed, routered,
2@ 500x100x15 Mahogany -Gearstick skirts- thicknessed, bandsawed, grinded
2@ 200x100x50 Mahogany -Gearstick skirts- bandsawed, disc sanded, bobbin sanded, grinded
1@ 500x300x20 Mahogany - Tub back- band sawed, thicknessed, disc sanded
2@ 200x100x20 Cherry - Tub skirts- band sawed, disc sanded, grinded
1@ 500x60x60 Blackbean -dash mould (where is meets the cig lighter and brake controller)- routered, trimmed, band sawed, bobbon sanded, disc sanded, grinded
14@ 30x30x20 American Oak -Letters- band sawed, disc sanded, grinded, carving chiselled
2@200x200x80 Blackbean -drink holder- hole sawed, carved, band sawed, disc sanded, bobbin sanded, grinded
and a few other bits and pieces
glue used-
Nightingale Megapoxy 69 blend ($150 per kilo) about 50 grams used (free)
Vernici Millesi 2pack sealer ($120 for 20 Litres) about 500mL used (free)
and 50% topcoat ($120 for 20 Litres) about 1 Litre used (free)
the polish is 2mm thick

Nice work I like the contrast of wood used.
You'll be OK for an emergency campfire in the Simpson now

lol i always carry a rear draw full of timber for emergencies, though it's usually just to keep my sanity when away from the chisels
