    Default Latest WIP

Latest work in progress for your perusal: Graphite freehand sketch of our son. About 3 - 4 hrs work so far. This is only a part of what will be the finished A2 (about 600 x 400) portrait, the hat brim measuring about 170 mm. The denim shirt and jeans with all the faded fabric between the double stitching is going to be a challenge...!

    Cheers,

    Jill

    Thanks Stirlo!

Here's some more - the result of about 7 hrs's work - my eyes are starting to see double, so I figure I'd better go do some long viewing & have a break!

    Cheers,

    Jill

Thanks Fred, and Sam! I'm off to do some woodworking today! I'll try to knock a few more off my total of 70 + doors! Limestone should arrive in about 4 weeks, so I need to do some muscle building work before then, ready to start laying them!!

    Cheers,

    Jill

I'm guessing you're doing it from a photo and he's not posing for it, wouldn't be possible to have him sit still for that long would it

Thanks, Oges! Trying to achieve some sort of realism there.

Hi Wayne, Brenton comes and has a bit of a look now and then and tells me its lookin' good! Lol - yeah, I wouldn't be that cruel that I'd make him sit still that long! He would get all bashful, even if he knew I was drawing him, so it wouldn't be this cute a pose. He goes all shy in photos, even & hates being photographed. For the ones I took this particular day, I had him and Shakira sit in the paddock and just interact - told them to ignore me and that I'd just click away. She did a great job - entertained him so well he forgot about the camera!

    Cheers,

    Jill

    beautiful work Jill.

only one thing puzzles me, how do you find enough hours in the day to achieve everything? 24 hours in day, 25 if you work through lunch lol so how do you manage 30 - 40 hours worth of work a day

Lol, Mick - I'm 'just a housewife' - you know, all the time in the world...!

Here's the portrait of our son, finished - perhaps some final tweaking tomorrow when I look at it with less bleary eyes!

    Cheers,

    Jill

Great work, but you can't sell that one at the show, be a big sin Jill
