Er - we won. That's what happened.
The 23 points don't matter much. The 4 points for the win are what count.
In all seriousness, I thought it was a pretty good game. The Eagles showed their youth, speed and depth of talent and the Lions showed that they have to be taken very seriously. They are a very good side - everyone knows that - and they have nothing left to prove after three flags. A loss to the Eagles at Subiaco is nothing to be ashamed of. I think the Lions will be a serious contender in September. I think the Eagles think so, too.

True Story
Last August I was wearing my "Bellingham Fire Department" shirt whilst on vacation in Vancouver, Canada, and went for a walk with my wife. We happened upon the results of a fire that occurred the night before where three old weather-board homes had been gutted by a fire set by an arsonist.
A man with a tape recorder came up to me and asked me why a member of the BFD was up to see the fire. Was I on special assignment? Was I helping with the investigation? etc. etc.
It turned out this guy was a journalist from a local paper doing a story on the fire.
I felt like telling him that I was on assignment and that this could be verified by Ryan Archer - but I thought better of it and told him the truth.
