Default blew the lid off the barn

Here's a couple of photos of what greeted us this morning at the pony club. We had quite a blow here but only a couple of mm of rain. Tonight it wasn't the wind, the lightening was amazing, but not much rain. Maybe tomorrow it'll rain.

    Cheers

See what happens when ya feed 'em too much oats? All that gas and it only needs one little spark...

Well we got the rain on the Gold Coast last night. My problem was that by complying with Level 5 water restrictions I had installed a downpipe rainwater diverter to give an extra filling hose for the pool. Neat idea that had been working ok for a few months.

Problem is that the diverter last night filled up with hail (which also shredded the veggie garden) and the water backed up past the point where the air conditioner drain hose had been poked into the down pipe. The head of water backed up to the roof and came out the first available opening as well as overflowing the gutters, resulting in a shower over the bed through the airconditioner unit. Soggy bed, bedhead, carpet .......

I managed to vacuum up a fair bit of water out of the carpet and mattress with the shopvac and now have the airconditioner running on heat/dry to get the rest of the moisture out of place.
