    Default Gothic architeture

    Welcome back.

    We spent the weekend in Avoca Victoria.
    Avoca played a major part in Victorias gold rush back in the 1850's.
    Here are some pictures of the Primary School that was built by the gold.

    The TV aerial is a bummer.

    {Okay, now NO ONE take the mickey out of Al - he must have turned over a new leaf...this is the first seriously sensible post I've seen of his! }

    Great stuff, Al - all that just for a Primary School - amazing. It would have to be the best school building in Oz, surely! So, how was the standard of their bricklaying and the longevity of their mortar?

    :eek: Ive posted serious stuff before, Im sure of it.

    As to the bricks mortar etc, I didnt get that close.
    Even though the school was closed I felt funny hanging around the school yard.

    Gotta agree with you about the architeture around avoca, we went there a number of years ago, is the building still in the main street ??

    My favourite Gothic building is Tarentellas in Fremantle (not sure if thats how its spelt) its in either in Henry or Mouat street if anyone is wakling by and wants to take a pic and post it

    I cant say I reconize it.

    Every building from the 1850's is still in the main street.
    Except those that aint.
