    Default Hawk

Hey, Up late waiting for the new bub to go to sleep, so thought i'd share what i got up to last year on our trip to Canada to visit Lee Valley.

Sorry no pics of the Vertias workshop, but this is one of the coolest things I've done... ever!

If you ever get the chance to go hawking. You should.

Is that a Perigrine? Nice looking little bird. Would love to try falconry, but never figured I could live up to the responsibility.

Well for a day out, you can't get much better (if you like birds that is)

I did this near Vancouver and it cost about 100 buck for a few hours, you get to handle heaps of different birds! For me it was an egale (Russian Step) a Harris Hawk (most forgiving hunting hawk... ie doesn't tend to fly off all the time, easier to train) and a gyr-x flacon. Also a barn owl, amazing, silent flight!

No there is nothing like this in Australia, keping birds of prey is Illegal .
It's Australias way of protecting them. (don't touch em and she'll be right)
Where as in the UK that have active breading programs for birds of pray.

If you ever vist the UK, US, Canada, The UAE and you have some spare time. look this up, a great experiance.
