Knots
I'm always mucking around with ropes - tying down a load or even for clamping big jobs (Spanish windlass does wonders). So I've just uploaded on my website a film clip showing how to tie 9 excellent knots - sheet bend, double sheet bend, bowline, butterfly loop, strait bend, clove hitch, round turn and 2 half hitches, rolling hitch, and figure 8.
Hope you find it useful.

Excellent videos Tim. Clear and easy to follow.
I have to admit, I am a bit of a knot nut. Those were the droids I was looking for.

Great stuff and well presented. Took me back to my scouting days. Love the straight knot for joining ropes. I could never master the Alpine Butterfly or Butterfly knot as described here.
The rolling hitch was always recommended for ropes on tents around the pegs (replaced round turn and 2 half hitches). The video shows how it got its name- from rolling around a spar or log.
