Leather Notebook Covers - Order Finished
I finally finished the order for the leather notebook covers last night. In all, a total of 12 covers ranging in size from the small flip notepad to A6 and A5 being the largest. Simple lacing to suit the leather and style, and a closing flap with clip on some.
Also, a pic of the stretcher I made. Some of the leather had creases so those pieces were damped down, tacked to the stretcher and left to dry overnight. It worked really well for some pieces but didn't for others as the creases were in the leather, not added later by incorrect storage.
Still, a great learning experience all round and it did give me an excuse to buy more leather working tools and make the Arts & Craft case too
cheers

Lovely work, don't let it become a chore though as it will riun the fun. Try some different designs as well.

Um, ok so I may be in need of a sharp pin right now
I think a good session will be in order to work a few out and yes, I'll take that to another thread elsewhere
Different designs are definitely needed. Different Leather too, as yes, it could be come a tad boring.

Jiggy Jiggy Figgy Jammy Jiggy Jiggy...
Wendy[/quote]
I admire your many talents and your obvious giving nature.
But.....I fear that songwriting is not one of them.
Can you explain the meaning of these lyrics?
I mean, I wonder how the "Jiggy Jiggy" slipped through the censors!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, the last piece of leather, on the stretcher, looked like the start of a map of Australia. Was that before it was cut?CJ

These are well made with that pleasant leather aroma adding authenticity. Shop dawg is very interested when I add notes to my booklet, constantly sniffing the leather case.
Mine will sit in the shop and be the log of what was made, when and how, finishes etc.
thanks Wendy!
(If you made a shiny red leather version with a pointed tail for a clasp I can picture this becoming a must-have accessory for every shop )

Good job Wendles. Must be a good feeling when they get snapped up like that.

Good work, Wendy. An A5-size version would make an excellent cover for your shed copy of the Code of Practice! An honorary bloke the likes of yourself deserves to have a speccy-looking Code.
