Yowie tracks Nah that would be the Boonmoo Monster.

Nice pics Cliff - brings back memories of surveying almost all the roads on the Tablelands in the late 1970's & early 1980's for phone automation. Do you ever come across Lindsay Bolch?

He lives 9K away in Tarzali right next to the the Fire Shed.

Used to see him at The Round Yard every Friday night until it burnt down almost 5 years ago.

He works for Evolve fixing office equipment all over FNQ.

The trailer that I now own used to be an old homemade bike trailer called The Coffin.
PJ & I rescued it from Lindsay's yard about 12 years ago.
PJ had it done up & got it registered & used it as a boat trailer for about 5 years.

I got it & a load of other 'hand-me-downs when he moved to Tassie.

Today's photo, it is different every day & often vastly different as the day proceeds.

I should add that there has been some rain since this series of photos were taken, but still doesn't look much better.

That looks like somewhere out on the Thompson River flats somewhere near Longreach to me.... maybe south of Longreach.

Jen worked with Lindsay at TOSCO. I knew he lives in Tarzali, haven't seen him in years. I remember that trailer, even carried my Monty on occasions. We have lost touch with Lee-anne & haven't seen Alan, well has to be more than 10 years or so.

Beautiful part of the world you have up there. Getting the big thunderstorms the last few days?

Hmm I know that country well. Spent a lot of time out there from the late 70's till about 2007. Heart breaking to see the cycles of drought as it is amazing country and incredible how fast it recovers after rain though. Hope you guys get some steady rain rather than the drenchings you had the last few times.

Lee-anne & Alan are still in Cairns, Alan works at Pacific Toyota.

We are near but not under all the big storms, we got 18mm in one that other got 44mm out of.

Doesn't look good so far, although this weather system looks promising.

Cliff, its no wonder why your wife responded to her treatment. With her knowing that she would be recuperating with that view to drawer inspiration from.
Down here on the edge of the New England, before Christmas we just had collections of weeds as lawn. We would get storm after storm shape up, look promising, then blow away. Thankfully the storms did give us some rain, over 200 mm, spread over about a month. Every thing has bounced back to the point where I am mowing twice a week. I don't mind because the Kycuri is turning into lawn. But its too hot to be in the shed in the middle of the day (well that's my excuse)
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod
