Default What Lives In Your Shed

While doing a cleanup and shift around today I came across my friendly gecko behind the first shelving unit I moved, he keeps the shed insect and spider population under control. I have seen him hunting on the floor when I have come in late at night and often see his tracks in the sawdust and he was the inspiration for my business name - Gecko Timber Works. Next to my hand you can see how big he is

Was really surprised an hour later to find another three behind another cabinet, I have only ever found the one before, seems I have a pack of them working for me.

Got me wondering about what local animals other people have in their shed that they like having around.

    Cheers,
    Mike

I'm sure I've got a ghecko or maybe two in my shed. If not, then I need a few more as they are not keeping the spider population down as low as I'd prefer.

HWMNBO's got Stumpy, the blue tongue lizard, who rustles around his sched quire happily. Stumpy seems to love the smell of kerosene though, he always comes out of hiding when HWMNBO's washing car parts.

The odd spider, mainly Daddy Long Legs and those nasty Jet Black ones!

    But surprisingly no Redbacks!?

I've almost finished my new shed but where I built it I have seen deer, wombats, roos, JMMs DJs, Robbos, Jows and echidnas.

I guess most will need to detour slightly now apart from the JMMs, DJs, Robbos and Jows

I've got a family of magpies that treat my shed as a thoroughfare from the front to the back yard.

My shop is attached to the house and we have the "bug" man
come every three months, so a fly now and then or a neighbor
hood kid is the only pests I have to deal with.

G'day Mike, funny you should ask. I was pulling out some figured redgum boards yesterday to sell and found a metre long Red bellied black snake lurking against the back wall . He was very docile but still not good to have him around with two adventurous little boys around (18mths and 3 years). Rang the local snake man and he grabbed him for relocation. I guess that's going to be a problem when you live in the middle of a bloody big paddock.....but arrrhhh the serenity

I hate to think what lurks in the dark corners of my shed. I have a cat that spends a lot of her time in the shed which makes me wonder sometimes.

    Does the F-up fairy count?
