My last bike, no photo, was an FXR Superglide. I actually got it so it stopped occasionally and went around corners sometimes.... it was, after quite a few bikes, British and Japanese, the most fun bike I ever owned.... I am currently considering a 1951 Triumph Speed Twin. Same age as me but better looking and in far better nick!

Let's see if I can get an attachment from another post in here......

    Yep, seems to work.
It's a Cagiva Gran Canyon, uses a ducati 900 motor so it's sort of a hybrid as well I suppose.

More bike pic threads here and here.

    Some nice bikes there guys.
I had a Yammy RD350 2 stroke that went like the clappers:

Then I had a Honda 500 four that was a bit of a tank:

That was thirty odd years ago and I wish I had taken pics at the time.

Here's my old man on his uncles' bike in Denmark, back in the year dot (circa 1935):

I don't know what type of ride that is?
Perhaps someone here can identify it for me.

Hey John, I had an RD350 too. Was a hoot after riding small bore trailies. Sure did go like the clappers ... until the girlfriend got on the back; lotsa power and no torque (the bike that is; g/f was the opposite )

Before that it was a CT175, then an RT2; after that a cage, then an XS650. Then kids . Then a TDM850, Triumph Sprint 995 (written off in a low speed downside); now the 'blade 954.

The Fireblade is another of the great bikes of all time. So together.

Yeh, it had a power band that really kicked in when you hit the higher revs. You had to keep it wound up (unlike a g/f )

Oh yeah plenty of injury , broke right leg just above the ankle ,ripped the tendon out of my left thumb ,broke my left shoulder ,lost a heap of bark of my lower back (leather jacket rode up ).
Took most of the bark off both knees and cracked the left kneecap.
Lucky I was wearing a helmet ,other wise I would have lost most of the left side of my ugly dial.
Pic below is whats left of a $900.00 helmet .Good insurance I reckon .
Anyone who rides a motorcycle and dosent wear a helmet ,has nothing to protect.

Well I dont have a bike anymore, had to sell our bikes when our car died some years ago and havent been able to afford them since.

My first bike was a 1977 Honda 125 road bike I bought for $40. Pic 1 is of me doing some maintenence on it with one of my sons Pic was taken about 22 years ago, I not so slender these days.

My next bike was a Kawasaki 400 twin. (also bought it for 40 bucks) spent a lot of time putting it together and getting it on the road, but didnt feel right on it, so I traded it in on a Honda VF400. Yay, loved that bike, and it loved to play.(pic2)

Then in about 1990 I traded it and bought a Kawasaki Zepher 550, which I loved too, but often regretted trading the Honda, it sort of didnt throw itself into the corners like the Honda, but wasnt quite as scary on the dirt.

    Ohhhh.....those were the days
