My first roadbike 1982 Suzuki Sultana GS 650, sold this thing about 5 years ago and rode it today to re-register for the owner who has had an accident and can't ride for a few weeks. Wow what a shock.

These two are a faded distant memory now but the first one was my first bike that I owned. It was about a 1949 Triumph 500cc Speed Twin.
The second one is about 1954 Triumph 650cc Tiger 110 ex Canberra Police Bike that I used to ride down Addison Road Marrickville at 80MPH running late for work. The good thing about Addison Road it ran for about 1.5 miles with no side streets until you got down to the bottom end so you knew no one was going to come out and collect you. That was in 1956.

Yeah it got a pre unit 650cc Bonniville engine ina norton featherbed frame. Sound sweat. I inherited from my father. He won many trophies at shows with it but still rode it every weekend.

Ah, that worked! I was becoming paranoid that jap bikes were not real bikes, then I saw the Honda. I was even going to save face by scanning a photo of my late Husqvarna WR360, then there was a Cagiva WMX500, never did get a photo of it though.
Currently the bandit is causing problems with the law so searching for a Moto Guzzi Daytona RS or if one can't be found then a MG1100i. I am dilusional that this will solve the problem but it's time for a "NEW TOY".

Nothing wrong with Jap bikes at all they have made some great ones along the way and they just keep getting better too.
Mind you that Norton is immaculate. Always a pleasure to see a well restored old bike or car for that matter see something of how it used to be what they did back then how they solved the problems they were faced with etc

I've owned two Brit bikes and 5 Jap ones.
The Brit bikes had character but not the reliability.Cheers, Ern
