Renault massacre
Apricotripper wanted to see a photo of some CARnage I've been guilty of, using a big angle grinder! So here's a shot of the result, not bad for a mornings work, if I may say so. You may remember a more intact car featured in the Australia Day photos...
Its for a good cause: a project I'm organising called the One Car, the recycling of an old car by 15 artists, with the exhibition in June. Its a Renault 16TS, and was intact(ish), but no more!!
I am using the rear end to make a chariot, so have cut a central section out and will weld the 2 halves back together...about 1m wide.
Cheers,Andy Mac

Looks like an interesting project, look forward to seeing the end result. How much horsepower will you need to pull the chariot
What are the other artists doing with the rest of it?Brett
Only Robinson Crusoe could get everything done by Friday!

Hi Oges,
Some wierd and wonderful things! I've got a three or four painters working on panels, inc. the roof; textile artists making do with wiring looms and also seatbelts & uphosltery; an auto upholsterer is making a lounge suite from the seats; glass artist with windscreens etc; various sculptors inc. kinetic work with wiper motor and lights; a printmaker has used impressions and embossings from various bits inc. plaques and name plates; and a couple of others...rubber from the tyres etc. A film maker has documented a lot of the process too.
I reckon there'll be some stuff left over, maybe some forging stock for me! A car is an amazing source of material, never be without a car body I say...although my wife thinks differently!
Cheers,Andy Mac

Where's the Mythbusters??
Must get an old car to chop up. I reckon it would be a good tension breaker...If you never made a mistake, you never made anything!
