Default Vic Fires - From inside the shed...

I wanted to show you guys some furniture as I'm pretty new...
    <v:shapetype class="inlineimg" title="Tongue" stroked="f" filled="f" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" src="images/smilies/tongue.gif" alt="" border="0" o=""></v:shapetype>
The irony of the finish on these tables is pretty strong... I was asked to make 2 outdoor tables to seat 6, long, narrow, oriental styled, black.
    <v:shapetype class="inlineimg" title="Tongue" stroked="f" filled="f" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" src="images/smilies/tongue.gif" alt="" border="0" o=""></v:shapetype>
Because they were to be black, I wanted to give the finish some texture so I burnt the timber (Vic Ash) with a blowtorch and then scrubbed back the grain with a wire brush. This gives a great texture and the dark colour which I then stain to complete black before oiling.
    <v:shapetype class="inlineimg" title="Tongue" stroked="f" filled="f" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" src="images/smilies/tongue.gif" alt="" border="0" o=""></v:shapetype>
The irony lies in the fact that half the state was burning down, and I was out in the shed torching a heap of timber... the colour of the timber after scrubbing it back with the wire brush was exaclty the same as the warm embers that fell all over our place for about 2 weeks in Dec, and again a couple of weeks ago...
    <v:shapetype class="inlineimg" title="Tongue" stroked="f" filled="f" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" src="images/smilies/tongue.gif" alt="" border="0" o=""></v:shapetype><v:shapetype class="inlineimg" title="Tongue" stroked="f" filled="f" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" src="http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/smilies/tongue.gif" alt="" border="0" o=""></v:shapetype>
Pic 1, the tables, 2, the view from the shed, 3, the sun at about 11am, 4 the clouds of smoke, 5 and 6 were taken at 1500 in the afternoon I swear. It was pitch black. Later, after it all eased, at about 1930 in the evening, it got light again.

Thanks for all your posts and so forth, your answers to queries people place. It all really helps a young bloke like me out.

Geeze Tim, even the dog looks worried about you?

I like that dark photo of the 2 trees with the red glow.

    G'day Trcol2,

That 4th pic is stunning, I'd enlarge and hang that one.

Good to see that with all going on it didn't stop some quality time making something.
I make things, I just take a long time.
