Default Has Aus Post been slow over Christmas?

I have only had one problem, eBay seller is blaming Aus Post but other items I ordered the same day & 2 days later arrived already.

He didn't mark the item as posted so I'm guessing he forgot to post it.

Slow over Christmas Australia Post has been been slow for years and instead of improving their service they are charging more and making even slower deliveries

Being the seller cliff is eluding to in this thread, there is another side to every story

Cliff bought a brand new guitar neck from me a couple of days before christmas for $35, so after ebay fees, paypal fees, I got $28, it was posted the day before christmas, and has to travel from Perth Western Australia to Far North Qld.

I was closed over christmas for 2 weeks. ,But I still went and did a postal run for ebay sales day before christmas, (2 days after cliffs order) this included cliffs 35 dollar neck

So a week and a half into january cliff does not have his neck yet.

So instead of contacting me like a normal person, cliff raises a claim and has my paypal account locked on a $35 dollar transaction, so people that I want to pay now cannot be paid

So, when discussing this with cliff, instead of being normal, he resorts to calling me a dill, ego centrical and so forth. He also saids I am a poor ebay seller and so forth, apparently its not good enough to post things during my holidays, I am a dill becuase I didnt then log into ebay and tick the posted box, silly me...... So I explain in polite language that I cannot control australia posts time schedule, so what does cliff do, he informs me, he intends to make a bad name amongst all the forums he uses.

Nice one cliff, speaks volumes doesnt it

PS according to australia post, your neck passed through sydney two days ago. But hey that is my fault isnt it.

Not Australia posts fault, got to blame someone other than a big organisation like the government, your an ex military rad tech cliff, you know how the government works or lack of it, and yes I can comment here because I was ex military myself, and when working for the military, had no idea what work really was.

My things that I have sent out have been recieved in a timely manner, same for the items I have purchased.

But couldnt this issue be easily resolved by looking at the tracking info? It will say when auspost recieved the shipping info, and then when auspost recieved the actual item.

Your also in Victoria, come on over to Perth and see what package times are like.

as far the tracking info, that wasn't found until after eBay claim, then "discussions", rather than a polite enquiry

I originally said after I found my paypal account locked, just give it another week, I mentioned that I am still waiting on orders from before Christmas to come in that I had placed with suppliers from over east, but after some interesting comments, we went looking through our reciepts

To this end, i was unaware that every package shipped had tracking on it, I was only aware that registered items had tracking on them, after going through all the shipments we did, which takes time and costs money, was a number found on the Australia post receipt, but by then, I was informed, I was a dill, bad ebayer, egocentrical, I was also informed be ready for bad feedback, and then a follow up of I'm going to slam you in forums, hence my earlier reply.

So blood is already in the water, and I have no more interest in attempting to please this person

im guessing according to Australia post, cliff would have his neck by the end of this week, but I don't control Australia post.

Some times things go pear shaped & it is not the sellers fault. I had a small parcel sent from a private sender in the USA a couple of years back for about $100 worth of badges & lapel pins etc. After a couple of weeks no parcel. Made some enquiries - can't track the parcel. We discussed the situation and the sender was quite prepared to replace the missing items even though he could prove he posted it. I said wait a bit longer first. Well still nothing so he sent another parcel. A few months later the original parcel turned up. It was a small Jiffy bag & very worse for wear. looked like it got trapped in a conveyor, run over by a fork lift and any thing else the mail distribution system could possibly do to a parcel. Some one must have found it jammed in the mail sorting gear then sent it on its merry way again. Over 50% of the items were beyond any recovery so tried to make a claim against Aust Post for the $100 - sorry no insurance. Despite my approaches it was still sorry you should have paid for insurance. The seller faced similar in the USA when he tried to claim. No insurance becomes purchasers risk!

The weirdest stuff happens with the mail system. Sometimes.

I had mail from Germany to New Zealand misdirected to Thailand.

I had a parcel from 200km away go on a 4000 km round trip to the South Island and back.

I had an item (forget what it was) disappear without a trace and after complaining to the supplier
and being sent a replacement said item turned up in my letter box 3 months later with no explanation
    whatever.

And usually most couriered things turn up in next day's mail. But then, NZ is not as big as Oz.

Wet week is faster. Still waiting on a package from Sydney that I know was posted last Tuesday.

If they delivered to the wrong address (happens all the time with us) then it may take even longer.

    Aus Post is rubbish now.

    AusPost in Canberra is woeful.

Due to wifes sickness, I order over the Internet a lot... Well, everything.

It is unexceptional to have a parcel sent, lost, found, sent to Siberia via Tasmania, redirected, re-lost, run over, left in the rain, re-lost, found and finally delivered.

I get 4 to 5 parcels a week and this is absolutely typical. 50% arrive very fast and 50% disapear for weeks. 1 in 10 are delivered to neighbours, even those that are carded for collection.

AusPost is a failing excuse for a bloated public service bureaucracy.

I use Ego couriers for every parcel and ask suppliers every time if I can have it picked up. Its tracked, cheaper and arrives unsmashed. They often say no or it's too expensive (due to senders location) which is a bummer

I did not name any names.

I was simply asking to see if anybody else was having Aus Post problems.
I have asked the same question on several other forums.

I ordered & paid for other parts from other suppliers on the 22nd & the 24th, they were marked as posted & I was sent a tracking number.

    Those items have arrived.

The part that I ordered, (I'm now out of pocket $58 for) that did not arrive was from an eBay seller who did not know the wording in the description on his product. Dill.

When I went to 'Contact Seller' there was no option to send "a polite enquiry"(sic). (this has now been changed, funny that.)

The only options under 'Contact Seller looked like this...
I have a question about using my item (0)
    I didn’t receive my item (2)
I need to return my item (1)
I received an item that wasn't as described (1)
Request to cancel this order (1)

When I clicked on 'I didn’t receive my item' I had no idea that would automatically lock his paypal account, it didn't tell me that.

I asked for a tracking number & was told that there wasn't one. (How does he now know it when through Sydney)

I asked for a date that it was posted & I still don't know that. (I'll be interested to see the post mark when/if it ever does arrive)

There were two options available & we had messages about which option, THAT would have been a good time to tell me about being closed for holidays.

This seller seems to have some sort of attitude problem and a serious ego problem.

This seller seems to think it is fine to take $58 & then do nothing. (I don't know that it is posted, I don't have a tracking number)

I look forward to receiving my item, particularly to see just when it was posted.

For some reason, the seller's ego thinks that pointing out his short comings is a personal attack & chooses to respond by trying to belittle me as a customer.

Play the ball, not the man.
    Cliff.

    Sure cliff.

Doesnt matter you did not attach my name, I have no issues with were I stand on this whole situation, I am not embarrased by it at all.

You know one of the reasons it peeved me off so much, your attitude.

Instead of a simple question you raise a claim, and its very easy to send a question through ebay.

I take two weeks holiday a year, I posted your item two days after purchase during my holidays, I went and opened the shop, packaged your parcel and posted it during my holidays. I then stood in a cue on the 24th for an hr at australia post, which by the way is my sons birthday, an hr to post your 35 dollar item, and then because I did not flag your ebay sale as posted during my holidays you call me a dill, incompetant and so forth.

Your package runs slow across australia, no surprise there, But its all my fault, idiot.

Really, your approach speaks volumes to who you are

Gents, please take your little squabble elsewhere.

Might I suggest communicate via Ebay?

Simso, you could even contemplate letting Cliff have the tracking number so he can see what is going on.

To set the record straight, Aus Post were not at fault.

Aus Post actually managed to transport an item of road freight 6,400Kms in 8 days, not bad at all.

The item in question was only posted Wednesday last week.
