    Default Been busy.

How come when we move into a new/different abode we just have to make changes??

I can see that some things we have done since moving here were a must. A must for me was to install rainwater tanks. That didn't seem so important to SWMBO.

Yep, we needed to modify the kitchen. For starters the stove (gas) was an illegal installation. Requires re tiling and installation of a new and bigger range hood. Done.

Well why not enlarge the cupboard and bench space while we are at? Done!

Let's put in a pantry and use the old pantry to store the rarely used, but essential, gadgets. Done.

Change the shower heads and bathroom taps. Change the vanity top. Underway but a few problems here with the tap fittings. Will sort that out tomorrow. Was it really needed

Tear up all carpet - 6 months old - and replace with floating floor. Good reason to do this as the previous owners had dogs that P(*&#ed on them. Half done.

Replace torn vinyl floor strips where needed. Underway.

Rearrange and replace electrickery where needed. Done.

When all of this is done I think we can complete the process of moving in!!

    No wonder I'm buggered!

When we've finished moving in I am under starter's orders to build a chest of drawers for the dining roon to store table cloths etc.

Maybe after that I can do something I want to do>>>>>>>

I'm with on this one. I just buy more tools to compensate, not that I will get to use them and if I do it is on a job not of my choice.

The tools just become a self-fulfilling prophesy.

I can relate to the rainwater tanks. Just put in three myself. Still hooking them up.

Anyhow I can see the move has gone basically well.

    Just finished renovations.
Started off to be new tiles on bathroom floor and removing carpet and having floors polished.
It was then decided to remove wall panelling around the staircase and up into the room above.
I finished up painting pretty much the whole house and am now fighting my way back into workshop so that I can get on with a TV table that I started before Christmas.
The job became bigger than Ben Hur.

Do your stuff while you are doing the other jobs.

I have already figured out that if this place ever gets within a couple of months of being finished, it will go on the market & we will be off somewhere else to start all over again.

    Arrow

Spent a few hours lifting damaged vinyl strips and replacing them with new ones. Despite the fact that all strips are the same size ( supposedly ) a couple wound up with a gap of about 2mm at one end. Very strange.

Had a firm come in and strip the whole area of flooring, buff it and then put 2 coats of finish on top. Came up a million bucks. I will have to get him back to do some minor touch up work, but we are very pleased with the result.

I replaced the ensuite vanity top and replaced the taps with the flick mixer type. Realized when I had finished that I should have put the tap unit in before anchoring the top to the base. Next time!

    Default Floors all done

Well finally the floors are all finished and I have started to put things where they belong. Glad to be rid of the dog Pi### smell. Had to paint the floors though before the new floor was laid to make sure there was no residual stench.

Installeed an Ikea wardrobe in the master bedroom and have already made the drawers for the walk in robe. Should finish that by Sunday.
