    Default Can Cadel Do it?

Well the scandals continue, Rasmussen has missed some doping tests and has now been kicked out by his own team!! (good enuff for Essendon..., good enuff for Rabobank, good enuff for Liberals??), Vinokourov............... gone (Dracula syndrome), Cristian Moreni............. known cheat, which leaves the Lotto Predictor boy... yes.... Cadel Evans in the hunt big time. Will he do it?

    Touch and go!!!

If he doesn't fall off he should make second, but by golly it'll be close.

Glad it's nearly over, I don't think I can take another week.... travelling with the autobus as it is..

    Cheers,

You would think that they should have cleared that one up before Rasmussen entered. Last years is still under a cloud as well.

Looks like there's three battles going on in just about all major sports nowadays. Apart from the actual sport, you've got the chemists battling out who can discover the best 'go juice', and who can detect it. Then you've got the lawyers battling each other in court over the accusations.

    Anyway, fingers crossed for Evans.

To quote a mate on a cycling forum:

For what it's worth, I was going to tip Cadel for a "Bradbury" podium finish after three riders in front of him fail drugs tests, but thought it would be too far fetched to occur ...
He's close enough to Contador - it's going to be one hell of time trial.

That's what part of the blue between the Race organisers and the Danish officialdome was about too:

Tour de France boss Patrice Clerc on Tuesday said Tour leader Michael Rasmussen should not have raced in the 2007 edition saying the Dane 'did not serve as a good example'.

"In the crisis period which we are living in at the moment, the champion must be a good example, unimpeachable," said Clerc, who is boss of ASO, the company in charge of organising the race.

"This lack of respect shown to the administrative rules, which is unacceptable, should be made known to us and we would have refused his participation, because he is not a good role model for the others in the peloton."

It would be good to see Cadell win, but I think it's going to be hard for him to pick up 4 mins on the flat and in the time trial.

I remember reading in Russell Mockridge's autobiography at how he was shocked at the tour riders filling their sample bottles with any liquid that happenned to be around...and that was more than 50 years ago.

It's less than two minutes now. He's in with a real chance I'd say.

Did you know you can arrange the letters in his name to form: "Ascend Vale"? Pretty appropriate for the Tour....

You can also get Clean Saved, Scandal Eve, Lance Vase, Lance Save and Laced Naves! (most of which are also appropriate for the race)

    Thumbs down

What a joke the whole thing. Why do they bother?

As I said before, legalise performance enhancing drugs and let them have a fair contest.
