    Default Carpet Repair

    Hei Guys,
Managed to put a small burn in the carpet here - very annoyed since apart from that, this place will be in ten times better condition when I leave than when I got here.
The burn is about 3mm by 10mm but noticeable.
The carpet is fairly new and there is an offcut in the storeroom, how hard would it be to cut out the burn and fit a patch - could it done so as to be unnoticeable?
    Cheers
    Paul

It is possible - basically cut the burned bit out along the gaps between the tufts (make sure you don't cut the tufts) with a sharp stanley knife and replace the burned bit with a similar size piece, The pros use a hot melt seaming tape and a seaming iron to put the patch in, but Bunnies sell a pressure sensitive version.

A little smear of PVA on the edges also helps stop any tufts unravelling over time.

Remember to have the nap running the right way!

...but ignore the stuff with the iron....not something I would trust!
