Came home from shopping today to find HWMBO with a new gadget in his hand. A high pressure washer. He had obviously been working in the justification for the expense for some hours as I was hit with the list of uses that the thing could be used for. Clean the car, clean the deck, clean the roof(which we need to repaint because of water and leaves sitting and rusting the crap out of), clean the outdoor furniture, .......Hmmmmmm?Clean the bathroom?

Noooooo!!!! As I wrestled him to the ground and managed to release his vise like grip on the trigger I could see that the thing had entered his brain and impregnated his thoughts with the mantra --"MUST CLEAN, MUST CLEAN".

Not an impulse I would usually quash, but also one that I have never heard before from the mouth of this man. I had obviously managed to break the connection as his breathing returned to normal and crazed expression gradually subsided with the aplication of a beer.

"Oh! Thanks. I'm glad you came home just in time." ----Also something I've never heard from this man's lips. But anyway, we are thinking of changing the plumbing arrangements so that he CAN clean the bath room with the high pressure washer. Maybe its the secret to getting bloke to do house work- get some powerful gadget to do it with. But then how come the vacuum does not hold the same charm as a "high pressure washer"?

(No water was wasted in the making of this drivel. Coffee blamed again for truth not getting in the way of good story.)

Even the stove top, every day!

Maybe he's just working up to asking if he can buy a new something-or-other. Or am I just being cynical? Actually HWMBO cleaned our kitchen last night too. Maybe there is something screwy going on.

I'm embarrassed by this admission ... but when I bought a pressure cleaner I *did* try to clean the bathroom.

What a mess! Spray everywhere. Water everywhere. And worse, it didn't even do a great job of cleaning.

My old shed never ever saw any type of vacuum cleaners or Dust Collectors. It very occasionally saw a broom - just ask anyone who visited it.

I have got a brand new DC for the new shed when it is built - after approvals - after owner builder certificate .........
