Thread: Are you a clean freak?

I only have a very small shed so it's pretty much essential that I keep it tidy.

I usually clean it up after finishing a project, however it can get pretty untidy during the process.

I don't think I fit any of the poll options though as I certainly wouldn't call it spotless even after I've cleaned it up.

Geez Bob, rattled me for a moment, thought someone had taken some pics in my shed
Even down to the GMC shop vac box (just bought a ROC 50) and the drum sander

Nice one Bob, my shop is sadly.... very much like yours! I even work side by side with Huntsmans and some kind of numerous black spider, we agree not to get in each other's way, seem's to work so far
As you can see in pic 4, I dont use Pinus much

Mine isn't like Major's and some of the other clean freaks we see on here either (unfortunately). But I have to start a new project with a clean shop and a tidy bench. I clean up once a week usually. I don't mind the dust around a bit and the current job in bits all over the bench but boxes and timber piled everywhere, no, not here. It reminds me too much of my son's bedroom.

Whilst I'm not a clean freak I must say that my chook shed and run is cleaner than your workshop.

I could never work in a shop where there is so much mess. So when ever I get in the shop I first put away up to 10 things that are out of place. This way it stays clean and organised.

Now that you mention it some chooks would go well in there, no sawdust then just manure for the garden

Today I dropped the spring washer off the tiny screw that holds a router bearing on,

and guess what,

Its lost forever.

None of the options apply.

I have a very small shop, and it doesn't take much before the place is looking fairly untidy. However, I try to put every tool back as I use it, or at the end of a shop session. As for sawdust, I clean that up daily. The finer stuff, that forms a layer of minute powder over the surface of everything, get cleaned up about once a week.

If you take a couple of inches out of the DC hose thats kinked, Im sure youll get better suction.

BTW have you tried finding it with a strong magnet, the magnetic base of my micro meter is great for picking up small bits of metal, like screws and nails.

I lost outside while having a cuppa.
Its only a spring washer so its not a problem
Must get some new cutter bearings though.

Yeah, you're probably right, it came like that out of the box. Still sucks though.
