    Default Colorfabb 3D Filament

We have had a Prius printer for a few years and always used Colorfabb filament with zero problems in all that time. 3DPrinterGear has always been our supplier but the last time we ordered they told us they had none and apparently still don't. The filament they suggested (Filaform) is rubbish and gives continual problems and the two remaining reels are going into the bin along with the partially used third reel. Does anyone know of a source in Oz that can supply Colorfabb or give me a recommendation for a filament that works on a Prius with no issues and I mean no issues as did the Colorfabb? I can buy it direct from Colorfabb but a source here would be better. TIA.

Don't have a Prusa (Bambu Lab X1C) but I've always had success with eSun filament. Local supplier and not too expensive.

Another vote for eSun. I’ve been using their PLA+ with no issues to date on a Creality Ender 3S1.

Thanks for the replies so far, it is a hard call to change from a brand that gave 99.9% reliability to another one especially when the supplier we have used all along gives bad advice or what I consider bad advice. Do filaments suit certain 3D printers? It is curious that the brand appears to have been pulled from the market here in Oz, we can import it and it would be more expensive but not by a huge amount so I might do that. Prussa filament is only available in 1kg rolls and works out a fair bit more than Colorfabb so there is no advantage over the Colofabb. I am going to have a chat with the supplier next week to discuss the problems with the filament they have supplied before making any decision.

Filaments might need to be calibrated for the printer depending on what you are after - resolution/strength/dimensional accuracy etc. The filament might print perfectly on another printer. What type of failures are you having? Maybe we can help you diagnose it and adjust settings

Are you printing PLA or something else?

In that price range you could try 3D Fillies. I have printed a lot of 3DF and eSun PLA + PETG and have found that 3DF filament much better, despite the ease for me to get eSun as the importer is only down the road.

I picked up a pile of XD filament from a bust business. It works well on my Prusa.

I'll bring you a roll to try when I collect the CV if you want (possibly next weekend)
