Been watching the news and morning show here fairly regularly.

Brasil has suffered massive flooding in the south for months. Entire crops of all sorts have been wiped out and the damage to property and infrastructure is immense.

This morning(here) Sao Palo is inundated with water from overnight rain. There has never been anything like it in living or recorded history.

On the morning show they had this fellow and his family on. He is a mechanic and his house and EVERYTHING he owned was lost in a landslide. All the family has is what they were wearing.

No Insurance here, virtually no government assistance of any sort, and he is one of many.

On the other hand the Amazon Basin has massive dry tracts. The water levels have never been so low.
