The Song of the Urban Gherkin

This is a song of the Urban Gherkin -
Not to be confused with his rural namesake.
For the Urban Gherkin was a smooth, suave number
In poolrooms, often shooting a one hundred break.

While his Rural relation, a much rougher cucumber
Was rarely, if ever, seen far from the farm
Where his walk, not a trot, but more of a lumber
Would restrain him from getting into much harm.

However ….

In the jingle jangle morning
He could sense someone
Following him.

Urban looked over his shoulder
And with the mourning in his eyes

Ferkin gerkin was baaaad
So baaaaaad
he almost lost his mind
Thinkin 'bout what he haaaad
