A couple that work for me,

"Nah, she's gone to Bombay for a month to set up a call centre using Indian slave labour, were gonna make an effin killing!"

"What are you wearing?, Ive got my lycra shorts on.... gee its hot isnt it....."

"hello, (makes scratching noise with voice), Sorry I cant hear you (yelling), etc etc"

"How did you get my name, there are privacy laws at work here, I demand to speak to your supervisor...etc, etc"

More to the point where are these people getting our phone numbers home and mobiles from.

The Government depts & Telstra is selling them, Real Estate agents, Banks.

These same depts are the ones getting paid to stop this and create the laws which govern privacy.

So in essence with out this round robin effect we would have a heap of Government employee's sitting around earning the dole instead of a grand a week for doing nothing.

Telstra who hires OS call centre people at $1 a day wages is in essence a private firm. Has lots of share holders one of the largest being Federal Government which uses its investment & return to pay for retirement funds of govrnment employee's.

So are you living off the slave traders.

Just another suggestion, works really well for cold callers regardless of nationality etc.

I've been on the dole/unemployed for the last 2 years.

The speed at which they hang up defies the laws of physics...

I don't do business over the phone nor on my doorstep. Don't care what teh product/service/charity. Even if I were otherwise interested I don't do it as a matter of principle.

Actually since listing my numbers on the "Do not call" register, life has been boring.
I have only had the odd charity to annoy.
    No telemarketing companies.

Now if only I could find a similar solution for e-mail spam........
