    Default Evans Head

Attached is a photograph of Evans Head NSW.
As you can see it was not a very sunny aussie day when taken, has anyone go a photograph taken of the same area on a preferably sunny late afternoon, and would they post me a copy please.

The navy seem to think it is.

RAAF Base Nowra was considered the ideal choice because of its proximity to Jervis Bay,

I think you'll find Jervis Bay is in the ACT and not NSW.

I got caught out by a trivia pedant one time. "What is the name of the harbour in the ACT?" I was thinking of some row boat pier on Lake Burley Griffin but a bit of research revealed the trivia person was correct.

The ACT is in two parts, the bit around Canberra and the bit around Jervis Bay.

That one will go into the memory banks.
(I'm a trivia pedant too, still in training though)

The Evans Head nsw. I am looking for is the one around 40kms. south of Ballina. Started painting again, but will return to woodwork as soon as the wife calms down.

How about I take a shot out my back door. It's night now so you won't be able to see that there's no river and it's piddling cats and dogs

I flew into Evans Head to an air show in the early 1970's.

Watched Brian ("Blackjack") Walker - a WW2 fighter ace - aileron roll a light twin passenger aircraft. Not rated aerobatic.

Most elegant flying. Most gracious guy. Great day at Evans Head.

I do the same in Microsoft flight simulator, thankfully without the risk or having had wartime experience. Have you ever used one of these type software programs?

Well, I flew into Evans Head in 1982 in a Helicopter gunship, fired off about 20,000 rounds and a few rockets then headed home.
