It simply came down to money. The D70 has a few features that make it better camera but they are of marginal value for someone of my skill/experience level.
The D70 is about $500 more than the D50. The major difference is the 18-70mm lens on the D70 is much better than the 18-55mm that comes with the D50.

Both of them take exceptional pictures.

I'm a philanderer. If you think it sometimes gets bad here with grown-ups behaving badly you should see some of the flamewars that occur at some of these sites over world changing issues such as the right shade of interior green which nobody will see unless they cut open the model kit!!! There are some very, very anal retentive people around.

This one is also interesting, people spending literally thousands for chunks of painted plastic...look on ebay for 'balrog' and you might see what I mean. Some of it is nice stuff but the way a lot of them carry on about it...

I do know that some of my lab rats have it hands or rather paws down over some of the pHd students I've had the displeasure to train in surgical techniques

Case in point one bright lad came up holding one of our large Sprage Dawley's and said I think this rat has had its thumbs amputated

I thought we decided in another thread that four per limb meant that the stubby little things were octits, not digits.
