    Default Fingers Crossed - Again.

Rang my builder brother today to enquire about milling some timber that a Forum member might have access to. He didn't answer, so I left a message. (He lives on Mum & Dad's farm). He rang me back just now to say that Dad has had some sort of heart turn (he's only 77), that the ambulance was there, and they were taking him to the Nambour hospital.

    Bit of a worry.

They've got him hooked up to a monitor and the Doctor has theorised at this stage that there's a small muscle in the heart that can cause the symptoms he's exhibiting. Just spoke to my Brother and he says Dad is quite stable.

Just heard from my brother. It was a mild heart attack. They're going to keep him in for a few days to monitor things and get him stabilised on some medication. A sincere thanks for your comments..

They'll keep Dad at Nambour for a couple of days to stabilise, then take him to the Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane. That's the specialist heart hospital so he's getting the best treatment possible. Hopefully, things will improve from there.

Erk. Been there done that.... hope it all turns out well.

My Dad went from Longreach hospital to the Prince Charles & after they decided that he needed a heart op, he was transfered to St. Andrews.

He should be just getting on a plane to go home now.

Dad's still going OK. Pain has subsided. They seem to have a fair idea where the problem is and this will be confirmed by tests at Prince Charles Hospital early next week. Plenty of rest and inactivity look to be the way forward and that's going to be hard. They've got 50 acres and he just loves mucking around with chooks, plants, cows etc. etc. Mum's the problem now. She's a team player and when half the team is on the sidelines, she's nearly helpless. Luckily we're a big family so practical support won't be a problem.
