Are you planning on doing a riser tile on the edge of the concrete? Typically the tiles extend out over your riser tile or flush with the edge of the slab if you don’t have a riser and then you sparge up the face to support the tile.

    Thanks Beardy.

I definitely don’t want a riser tile. It will change the look in a manner I don’t want.

I’ve never heard the term sparge outside of home brewing. What does it mean?

After you lay the external tiles you are filling the void between the bottom edge of the tile and the concrete under it so that the tile edge is fully supported
