    Default FireFox useability tip

Sometimes I like to browse in a side-by-side mode ie use the toolbar and click on the link then watch the adjacent pane change.

I had wanted this feature to use the BB but had some issues with it. Today, I dragged the "New Posts" link in the bar above onto the FireFox toolbar, right clicked on it and selected Properties. There is a check box in there to load the link into the sidebar. Once checked, rename the link "New Posts" then save and close it. Then click on the link.

You can then open each link and the leftmost pane will remain unchanged. To refresh it, click on the link button again.

BTW, if you CTRL-Click the link in the left pane, it will open a new panel in the right pane.

I've tried this and it seemed really handy until I clicked on the Page2 link in the left hand pane and it opened the NewPosts page in the right hand pane - I was back where I started from (iykwim)

I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Thanks for the tip, Groggy. I might try this instead of tabbed browsing, though doublejay's twist seems difficult to get around...
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

I did note that behaviour myself but didn't post a fix. I dragged the "2" link into the toolbar and made it load in the sidebar too. "3" would be the same, etc.

    Default Toolbar Folders

If you right click on the toolbar known as the Bookmarks Toolbar Folder, it gives you the option of creating a new folder. If you do so, you can then drag and drop your WW links to a folder that will drop don in menu fasion. I've found this quite convenient.

You can also add a second level of folders to the first.
