Default Getting Old Has Its Advantages

We do a lot of online shopping because we don't live in the metro area and besides that it is easy and I am lazy and fuel costs heaps. I often find that a parcel gets delivered and neither of us can remember what we ordered and it is a bit like Christmas, unwrapping the new arrival and suddenly remembering what I ordered a few weeks ago!

From time to time I've kept a spreadsheet of my orders so I know what's arrived, what's to come and nominally when it should arrive etc

The items are colour coded, Blue is on order, green is delivered, orange is over due by no more than 2 weeks, red is more than two weeks. purple is under dispute (rare)

You can also use that for the wishlist items too - no highlight colour means we should debate whether we want it or not

I don't use a wish list as it would be too long

For a start, it beats the alternative.

    Benefits of ageing?
    So Many.

You discover that cruising is after all a good way to view the globe.
    Your alcohol imbibation drops
    Your libido drops
But you discover that there are pills for everything
You said you would never be like your ageing parents, swallowing a multitude of pills every morning, but find it no problem unless you forget.
You discover the benefits of the age pension, medical and seniors card.
You get a discount at shops
You get free coffee at Maccas
You get cheap or free rail transport
You get global discount on museum entry
    You take up woodwork
You collect things in the shed
You at last understand and agree on the 'wisdom of the elders' and dislike any taking heads on the DRUM or SKY that are under 50.
Yelling at the TV is now considered therapy and a good thing.
You finally decide that the children can look after themselves and decide the spend the inheritance
You find internet dating a valuable communication exercise if single
You enjoy your grandkids more than you ever enjoyed the kids

You can flirt with young female staff and then get treated like silly old sod, good for a laugh instead of being slapped on the face.
had a young lady offer to bring my groceries to my car, laughed and blushed when I asked if she would come home and bring them inside for me.

I love this life, my dear Dad taught me well.
I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds
