Post "There but for the grace of god go I"

I'm really not sure what I want to say here. I guess it's that given the events within the world of recent times it has made me value my family more than ever.

One of the events that has rocked me the most this past year has not been the Tsunami, nor the recent destruction in the US.
It was that I was made a guardian for one of my parents neighbours, a lady that I hardly knew. The reasons for me being considered for this position of trust is that some time back I tuned the lady's TV in and fixed her security door, and her answer to the guardianship board was that she only trusted me.

The lady recently turned 90, and has no known family and the only friend she has is my mother.

A lonely position I never want to find myself in. Yet with things like the events in the US, and the Tsunami before that, have made me realise that one can lose everything so quickly.

As I said, I'm not sure why I'm saying what I'm saying, just needed to say it.

Must almost be the ultimate compliment, trust is something that can only be bestowed on someone considered worthy.
    Treasure the experience.
