    Default Who Hates Maggots??

I just want to vent as i spent 3 hrs last night trying to kill all these little maggots that came out of the bin.
The previous owners had something in the bin that was letting off a putrid smell which probably attracted files to my garbage.
I tried everything from bleach to baygon sprays to mineral turps and also boiling water and the boiling water worked a little bit but they just kept on coming.
After 3 hrs of sweeping i finally gave up and just put the bin outside near the kerb for bin collection even though it wont be collected until another day.
Is there nothing that can kill these monsters??
    I hate maggots!!!

    Who doesn't?

Years ago when I was a uni student, I used to share a flat with 3 other blokes. (I did most of the house work and cooking) We had carpet in the flat and as you can imagine the carpet was quite disgusting especially the area outside the kitchen. There we 2 yellowpages sitting outside the kitchen for ages. So one day I decided to move them and tidy up the place.

I lifted the yellow pages up and OMG….

Try the surface spray, residual, Mortein or Baygon outdoors insecticide, or the Phenol wheelie bin cleaner.

Yeah and the most annoying part is that they just keep on coming no matter what you throw at them.
I might have to invest in a flame thrower & do a Sigourney Weaver from aliens and burn the little buggers.

You can get stuff for fly strike that makes them curl up. I think Kero might be a start....

Got any fishermen in your area? Turn a problem into an opportunity ... gather the maggots and sell 'em as bait.

hahaha i have a slight phobia with these creepy crawlies so there is no way i'm going to gather them up.
BTW i even tried kero and that didnt work either. It actually made them move quicker as the ground became wet.

Yes but you were supposed to light it

They are moving faster due to being killed they will die just give them time
buy some eucylyptus oil from woolies and a few drops will help keep fly's away.

Bin collection is either today or tomorrow

Chooks love maggots, they go into a feeding frenzy, but probably not too good now you've poisoned them!

I didnt want to light the kero as it was too close to the wall of the house.
