In short:
I am in Indooroopilly in Brisbane. I am looking for someone to cut and drill some aluminium tube I am using to make parts for a CNC router.

The longer story:
I have always been fascinated with the idea of computer controlled machinery. Looking for a suitable project that suited my current circumstances, I decided to make a CNC router.

I chose aluminium tubing as the base material. I worked out a rough design that would have some leeway in dimensions, knowing that I probably couldn't achieve great accuracy. (I have had a developing medical condition for some time that interferes with my use of my arms and legs.)

However, I find I cannot achieve the accuracy I need, so I am looking for someone who might help.

The aluminium is mostly 20mm square tube about 1mm thick, though I might end up using some 3mm angle or tube for some parts. It cuts and drills very easily.

The accuracy required, though beyond me, is not great. eg Two parts should be roughly the same length, and the holes drilled in two parts should match so that bolts can be run through.

I drive, and can bring the work to your place, and pick it up when it suits you. There would be several goes needed as I prototype the bearings cage, the rail supports, the frame, etc. I already have a wooden bearings cage prototype (of sorts) and would like to try this as the first piece executed in aluminium.

Of course, I would be prepared to pay to cover your costs and time.

TIA
Jim
