Thumbs up Here's a 'tall' story

This fella goes into a pub, sees a Killa Kilo steak meal - 1kg rump steak, bowl of chips and bowl of salad for $38. Apparently you eat it all and you get a complimentary drink and also $10 back on your meal price...

Only catch is you have to do it in 30 min to get the drink and cashack. He sits down and has a Jim Beam and Coke with his dinner, finishes off the steak in 11min, then knocks down the chips and salad too. When the staff arrive on 30min he turns around and asks for desert

mate thats just an entree! was in Buxton a wahile back and they have a big burger called the tower burger, its fairly big, then they have another one called the cathedral burger. now I had been eating pretty well in the days leading up to it (meaning I had a bessa brick stuck in my guts,) So walked in with the guy I was working with and he gets into challenging me. Bassically he ordered the Tower burger I order the Cathedral burger (I will post pics when I can get em off my phone.) and I order a bowl of chips (The bowl they came in was a bowl big enough to present a garden salad for 4 people!)

Now the bun for said burgers was roughly the size of a normal dinner plate and the cathedral burger stood nearly a foot tall, I finished the lot in a fairly speedy time (chips as well) old mate opposite couldn't even finish his happy meal (tower burger) needless to say his nickname now is "happy meal"

I had a few 750 gram T-Bones at the aratula pub when I was up there a while ago the cook was astounded when I asked what the main course was and told her the tbone was a good entree. needless to say she just about emptied the tub of ice cream when I ordered dessert!

I'll only do it if I get 45 minutes and lots of mustard for the steak and mayo for the chips...

Not such a tall story, there is a pub at the back of where I live (behind the hinterland) that used to say the meal was free if eaten in the short timeframe, but they had to stop as my young engineers & workmen were eating free 5 days a week

I went in a pub down Brighton way where they used to feed a weightlifter for nothing as everyone would come in to watch him eat - huge plate absolutely stacked.
    Cheers,

Dunno if they still do it, but there's a chain of curry restaurants here that will give you the meal if you finish it in a set time. Gotta order the largest serving though.

Menu is funny too. They have 10 levels of 'hot' in the curry, level 1 says something like "yellow coloured stew" and it escalates to level 10 being "you will catch fire, an ambulance will be called".

Surprising to see such a sense of humour and adventure here.

Then again, this is the land of the $5 "roll out the door" lunch...

I like the fact that people are generally funny and given the chance they do show it. I prefer to have have a joke with someone then to be all serious and stern.

Over at Streaky Bay there's a shop who boast the "West Coast Whopper" is free if you can eat it all... I doubt anyone could, Im a big eater and doubt if I could eat half!
