    Default Japan

    Hi,

I have the opportunity to visit Tokyo for a few days (for work). My mind immediately springs to Japanese chisels etc. Anyone got any advice on where to go?

    Regards,
    Mike.

    A Japanese Chisel shop

Considering my chisel spends most of its life chipping off epoxy, I'm happy with budget hardware store products and sharpening it on the belt sander, but I'm happy to accept that if you use yours for accurately and carefully removing thin shavings of expensive wood from your work, you might have a better attitude to the weapon.

    Cheers

Try Schtoo, I think he was talking about flea markets somewhere where bargains could be found in hand tools.

Check out the place mentioned in this thread. Goodwoody (Damien) put me onto it and it's well worth the visit. The whole town is worth looking at.

    Guys,

Thanks for all of the fine advice (as per usual). I PMed Schtoo. He's got a mate in Tokyo and he's going to get me some info.

AlexS - I looked at the link. Wish I could lash out on some of that, but seems a bit out of the budget for the moment. It would be nice to meet the man though and have a chat with him.

    Again, thanks all.

    Regards,
    Mike.

Make sure you get them freighted back home, otherwise they'll take you for a terrorist trying to hijack a plane. (And make sure your clean shaven)
