An old email that crops ups from time to time.

A quick search of such sites as snopes.com shows quite a few of these 'facts' to be
incorrect.

Like I say don't let the truth get in the way of a good story. You may notice it is in the drivel forum.

Sorry, didn't mean to treat this too seriously .

It amuses me that such emails survive for as long as they do. A few minutes with your
favourite search engine can sort these claims out.
It's interesting that most (if not all) of the ones I've seen, originate from the US.

I still get the occasional chain letter which, having failed to pass them on, probably explains my current run of bad luck

Lennie from Vinci did NOT invent scissors. About the only thing he seems to have 'invented' was a type of acrylic or epoxy paint - he used it for the mural 'The Last Supper' - and it didn't last.

Scissors were probably invented by a Moslem surgeon who wrote under the name Al-Bucasis or one of his close associates (1300's?). I have a recent translation of his manual on medicine & surgery buried on my bookshelves somewhere.

And a high school student recently proved that goldfish can remember at least 3 weeks ago.
