Default What does luxury mean to you

While reading a thread on this forum today i saw the statement
    Workshop – luxury
This got me thinking as to luxury in my life. What does luxury mean to me now in my current location—age—financial position – ETC

    The Luxury of Location.
1 For 50 of my 67 years i have lived within a 10 minute walk of the beach, this is luxury.
2 a walk on the beach with no loose dogs running around.
3 somebody else walking takes 5 minutes to have a chat.

    The luxury of age
1 My kids are grown up/are happy/have families.
2 my Granddaughter says “awe poppy you’re funny. my grandson says “awe poppy you’re fat” then giggles
3 I go to a pub in the next town and a blonde shapely attractive 30 something gives me a hug and a peck on the cheek and says ”hello doll how are you “

    The luxury of finance.
1 I have enough to live on in my own modest way
    2 I owe nobody nothing
    3 I manage

    The luxury of Fishing
    1 The weather’s good
2 The other fisher people are chatty
    3 I catch something/anything

    The luxury of Travel
1 last year spent a week in Burra and Clare in South Australia
2 last year spent 3 weeks touring Far North Queensland
3 Next month will spend 2 weeks touring Tasmania

    The luxury of health
    1 The pills are working
2 Could be a lot better
    3 Will be better.

    Life’s luxuries.

    Food A scotch fillet

Beer Will alway be available on Friday night.

Friends i have none, acquaintances i have many.

I have my computer my camera my fishing gear and a roof over my head.
    Life is good.

    Cheers Fred

Luxury for me - an hour alone in the workshop. I love my kids, and I love that they want to be in the 'shop with me when I am working, but keeping an eye on them when I am trying to do something really eats into productivity!

Luxury: Any day when I don't throw up i.e. the pain is managable. Everything else is icing on the cake.

    I previously thought luxury was:
Time spent with loved ones or friends.
    Time spent alone pursuing hobbies.
Time spent with horses and other various animals/pets.
    Good food and drink.

    ..all the usual stuff.
    .
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

    Regards, Woodwould.

    Luxury....

Habitat: when I'm home I live in a moderate(170sq. m) pretty house with a veranda all the way around and a deck for entertaining. This is located in Mundulla,Pop.161,very pretty, lots of redgums, very quiet with a brilliant pub.

Finance: I am an oilfield supervisor and paid as such,ie no complaints for 6 months a year work.I also earn $75/hr drilling waterwells when I'm home if I feel like it.My wife also earns good money and now is part of an investment group as a director.

Family and friends:I have a loving family and two lots of very good friends, home friends and Moomba friends.Oneday both will meet..hopefully not at my funeral.lol.

    Yeah...I live in luxury.

fenderbelly says "Friends i have none, acquaintances i have many"

Some years ago I heard someone say most people you know are acquaintances not friends.

Friends are the ones you would call to go Bail for you at 3.00 am after you’re charged for a pretty serious, out of character, drunken incident.

    Default Luxury is...

Not having to set an alarm clock to wake up in the morning.

Luxury would be sucking Hennessy's Cognac through a Tim Tam.
