I saw the Vegemite story at work today. I like Vegemite.

Here in New Zealand, the Marmite factory was damaged in the Christchurch earthquake and they can't make the stuff anymore.
People are going crazy trying to get it, would you believe $26 for a 250 gram jar.

And now customs have siezed 2000 jars of English Marmite someone tried to import. Marmite import row to be chewed over in court - National News | TVNZ

Sounds like a storm on a piece of toast to me!

I'm just trying to remember when I last had Marmite??? Oh yes, this morning for breakfast Difficult to find this side of the cut and dammed expensive when you do. I get visitors to bring it over if they are flying and have hold baggage. If they only have hand baggage, strictly verboten! It may go bang I couldn't think of a bigger mess than exploding Marmite

The great Marmite/Vegemite debate. It all depends on where you grew up. If your formative years were in the UK marmite is the go, but if you spent your adolescence on the Aussie beach nothing less than Vegemite will do.

Aah, the old Mar-mite and Pa-will debate - they don't even rate when compared to the "real" spread.

There is only 1 winner - Vegemite!

Au contraire mon ami. Sometimes copies can be better, but not this time I fear..

Each for his own though and I would never try to beat anyone down who has seen the light at the end of the tunnel only to find out that it's a train

After this Marmite versus Vegemite debate.
Here is something else to try----Promite--- it is the favourite in our household.
It is slightly sweeter than Vegemite.

    Give it a go, Keith.

    Sounds delicious

    Hydrolysed poultry feathers

Hydrolysed? Used to make feathers edible? Must be good
