    It seems when you actually go to buy them no-one has them in stock. I think maybe single-use plastics that are really only good for choking sea turtles are not in the demand they once were.

    Skew, did the place you googled up actually have them in stock. If so please let me know.

    Dammit, no. Just had a quick check and you're right.

    If you're in a hurry to source 'em I'm thinking that heat-shrink is your next best bet, as Beardy mentioned.

    See if you can track down someone at the service companies installing NBN. The fibre gets blown into ducting similar to what you are trying to make. Basically a 50mm or so duct with smaller sized ducts inside for the individual fibres. Im sure they wont mind giving you a few meters of offcut.
