and also reminds me that the mods are doing a great job
and not getting all "robocop" on us

If we ban negative threads, we wouldn't have this thread

why? There will always be friction when we rub shoulders, have an opinion or want to change something!

To ban anything is censorship, burning books, limiting expression, and all those most nasty things of this world.

    Vote for the negative!!!!

How could you tell its negative? Sometimes things go all negative and horrid half way through, and then even come back from the brink. If you can't be negative among friends where can ya be?

One way to prove you're right is disprove everything else anyone says contrary. This is a particularly useful, nay vital tool for correcting others opinions.

What the heck is a negative thread?
Isn't that saying "ban anything I don't agree with"?
I reckon people should be permitted to vent and give opinions on whatever subject they feel strongly about and to recognise that others may hold opposing views and opinions.
What I find unacceptable is rudeness and insults directed at other forum members, but let them run with their rudeness for a while so that the rest of us know who these people are. That way we can ignore them and hopefully they will go away and insult someone else on another forum somewhere else, that is if the moderators don't chop them off first.

Have I insulted anyone with this?
Of course I'm brave, I'm afraid of NO man, and only a few women.

One of the reasons I like this forum is the openness, I am a member on a motorcycle forum and once had a thread closed as it might have upset the potential sponsors. The thread was a discussion on recent bad service that I had received from a dealer.

This is a great community that is very open to debate the recent discussion on the stop saw and tradies are some good examples.

    I'm with you Rodney.
I was a member of an American-based motorcycle 'safety' forum and I noticed that anyone who expressed an opinion that didn't align with the owner/moderator, was banned from the site.
I dropped out after reading a thread where a discussion was taking place regarding licensing laws in some US states. Some of the 'older' members voiced certain opinions, some of which related to Texas which happened to be the home state of the 'owner/moderator', and were subsequently banned.
From my position, I found the topic very interesting and informative. No one was rude or insulting to another member, but a few blokes commented on how lax the laws were in that state, and were summarily banned from the site.
One bloke posted a link about some idiot on youtube who was riding a bike and performing stunts on a public road. The poster stated that this rider was demonstrating the stupidity of some people and added that the rider was obviously 'skilful' in his abilities, and he wondered why this bloke couldn't use these skills in a controlled environment. Yep, you guessed it. He was banned for posting the link. The reason? The moderator believed the video was not informative and wanted to make an example of the forum member.
The same moderator posted a photo of himself performing a 'wheelie' on his Goldwing, just to show that anyone could do it on almost any bike. Although he did add that this stunt was performed in a controlled environment. Of couse, it was on a public road with a group of bystanders (all in riding gear), looking on. ?
Doesn't sound right? Only in America.
I recently re-visited the site only to find that ALL topics are now general chit-chat.
Of course I'm brave, I'm afraid of NO man, and only a few women.
