    Default Pooped!

I've spent the best part of the last three days mowing my 2000square metre block,
painting the eave on the back deck and removing old decking oil from the front deck.

The front deck needs re oiling so I wanted to get it as clean as possible. I found an old cointainer
of liquified Pollyfilla gel which I applied and cleaned off, after allowing it to soak overnight, with my
pressure cleaner. I repeated the dose and today used a mixture of sugar soap and oxy action napi
san ( as suggested by a mate) to give a final clean. The result has been pretty good with the slats
near the door, and therefore well protected coming up like new. Other slats that have been subject
to more weathering still look a little dull.

Tomorrow I will give the whole thing anther wash with the pressure cleaner as I want to remove all
possible traces of chemicals before reapplying oil.

I`ll keep this in mind for my place Artme as the entire 80 y o flooring is heavy & grimy 1" thick boards which after cleaning & sanding will want to clear coat.

One particular oil manufacturer who shall remain nameless, but has a pretty good decking oil, re-bottles Napisan as their own brand deck cleaner.

Or so I was told some years ago by one of their directors.

I've always found Tricleanium to be an effective cleaner of just about anything. Mix it strong enough and you can strip paint.

Just an update. Left the decking to dry and it has not come out as well as i hoped.

All the old decking oil is gone but the more weathered outer slats are still grey and oxidized.
There are also marks where the fanning high pressure jet was used. Looks like I will have to
spend time and moneywith the ROS to get back to a better wood colour. Either that or use,
say, a White Knight product called Renew and forgo the decking oil.
