Default Another question for the computer gurus

I have several hundred images in the "My Pictures" folder and rely on "Thumbnail View" to locate the ones I want. However, in several instances the wrong thumbnail image is displayed, usually a duplicate of another image in the same folder i.e. two different images display the same thumbnail view. I'm assuming that "thumbs.db" has been corrupted. Does anyone know why this happens or how I can fix it? If I just delete it will a new, hopefully correct one be generated.
    Thanks

PS. Op system is Win XP Pro SP2 fully patched.

As far as I'm aware, deleting the thumbs.db file would be the best thing to do.

Dunno about XP, but in W2K I'd convert the view to "Details" before deleting the thumbnail info file. Then converting back to thumbnail view should generate a new thumbnail info file.

Oi, no fair fixing it that easily. We haven't had a chance to pick the problem to pieces, create a few new ones and then suggest you buy an Apple instead
